Clinical nutrition (also called Holistic Nutrition or Nutritional Medicine) is an evidenced based form of complementary health care that focuses on identifying and addressing the underlying cause of your health concerns. Underpinning our practice is the basic understanding that all illness must have a cause. For health to be restored and optimised the cause or causes of the illness must be identified and addressed.
Clinical nutritionists adopt a holistic approach to health whereby food as medicine, nutritional therapeutics and lifestyle modifications are used to treat the root cause of health conditions, rather than just the symptoms alone, while considering the individual as a whole. Personalised treatments and disease prevention plans are used to address the nutritional, dietary and lifestyle factors that impact one’s wellbeing. There is no one size fits all approach.
